What makes this situation so ridiculous is that while we’re all watching for scammers attempting to imitate legitimate organisations, FedEx is out there imitating scammers!

    This one confuses me. I never receive text messages about my packages. I get around 5 deliveries a week on average and maybe a dozen on a heavy week, and I have never had a reason to get my phone involved. The package is either delivered successfully, or I can see from the seller there was an issue, and I deal with them. A few times the delivery service has left a note and I’ve called them. Why are folks even bothering to allow text messages for deliveries?

      It’s mostly so you can grab it as soon as it’s delivered if you have a porch pirate problem.
