Honestly, you are right it didn’t. CS majors get way less work than Software Engineers where I live. CS is mostly academic and not practical. Maybe different elsewhere, but not a golden ticket.
Also just like other engineering fields, way way way over saturated. Mechanical and electrical engineers in places like Toronto are just working Starbucks. You gotta be top of class or there’s nothing for you.
this actually outside of that, AI just put a wrench in the works, i dont think cs had a good outlook since 10 years already.
