I had a hysterical family member reading the DSA and saying “they want to abolish the police and prisons, that’s crazy to just let all those people walk the streets.”
I attempted to clarify that the prison industrial complex is so corrupt and broken it needs to be completely replaced and their reply was, “well the website doesn’t say that so what am I supposed to believe?”
