Language changes over time. Sad you felt the need to downvote when just discussing. Keep on keeping on.
Could care less = “I could care less about this thing, if I tried harder.”
Implying that you do care, but could potentially care less if pressed.
Couldn’t care less = “I could NOT care less about this thing, even if I tried harder”
Get it right, it’s important.
