The government can choose to sue (civil) or prosecute individuals/executives (criminal liability).

Assuming there is some legitimate explanation (I’ll be interested in hearing this one!) they likely won’t, but will now establish higher level reporting channels with OpenAI and Anthropic, and perhaps check their important email boxes more often regardless. ;-)
