I keep seeing videos of some british guy going around asking international students / workers, “what’s a word that you find hard to pronounce”, and initially it’s played off as cute, but after the fifth person, it’s clear that he’s doing it to mock them as he’s pretty strong in how he corrects them…

there is a narrative to normalize this kind of “us first” behaviour…
