It’s honestly incredible how bad the AI overviews are. So often it just makes up some shit and then adds two links as sources that both don’t support the claim.
And it’s so easy to slip up and take the AI overview for fact when it’s in line with your believes.
To be honest, I’m more mad when it does provide good search results. I was looking for a car forum thread to diagnose an issue and it nailed exactly what I was talking about and provided a thread that explained the problem in detail. I’m a good researcher, I could have found that thread the old fashioned way, but Google search ai served it up on a silver platter
I pretty much don’t search anymore. If it’s computers I’m reading the readme in the source code page or looking at theretroweb for hardware shit. If I can’t find it through hyperlinks or entering a URL it basically doesn’t exist.
I used to be really good at looking up stupid bs on search engines but between everything being in Discord servers :electron-cool: now and the destruction of search engines, why even bother trying?
