Given that most so-called “communist” revolutions ended up seizing state power instead of abolishing it, it’s no wonder why they all failed to achieve communism.
The siezure of state power and establishing a worker state is the fundamental pre-requisite for collectivizing all production and distribution. The abolition of class and money comes along with the collectivization of production and distribution, at which point there is no longer class struggle and thus no basis for a state. This is basic Marxism, the socialist states have not “failed” to do this, but rather have not yet developed to this level.

On the flip side, capitalism is an economic system where the means of production are privately owned. There is disagreement on whether fascism constitutes it’s own economic system, but the fact remains that it has historically emerged from capitalist states in crisis.
