Once seen as nerdy but harmless innovators, men in tech are now widely regarded as red-pilled Elon Musk wannabes. It’s made getting laid a whole lot harder.
And, yeah, when I tell people I work in tech the response is either “cool” or questions about what we do and how we do it, from the more geeky people. But I also don’t work for a company that “shortens the kill chain” or “connects the supply chain to the kill chain”
EDIT : I want to be very clear that “Connecting the Supply Chain to the Kill Chain” is the real actual title of one of their advertising docs on their official website linked above.
Palantir’s such a psychotically cringey company. Acting like flying a MacBook from a desk in Miami is some warrior shit. God I hate them so much. What’s worse is they actually do help kill people but never have to come face to face with it.
On top of that their cringe is infecting other tech companies. Like the term “forward deployed engineer”. Because you know, implying that you’re at war with your customers is definitely healthy and appropriate.
In the industry Tesla is known for being incredibly hostile towards women who work there. But yeah I doubt most people outside tech would know that, though they probably wouldn’t be surprised.
Tesla and Palantir. I doubt anyone cares if you work for some no name enterprise company like Initech.

Even Tesla on paper builds cars. Yeah Elon is a Nazi, but it isn’t the panopticon company that’s also providing warcrimes software
