Ooooh, I love an opportunity to learn. As someone who has used both blacklists and whitelists throughout the years extensively I’d like to know why one is superior over the other in your perspective.
Yeah, that’s why they both have their applications. If you want to just block some things and allow everything else, use a blacklist. If you want to block everything but some things, use a whitelist.
Attempting to do with one what the other is designed for is an exercise in frustration IMHO. Hence asking.

Obviously, “It Depends™” but usually an allowlist is better than a blocklist because it fails closed in a sense.

You’d only release the names of your enemies and people you can break down while hiding those of you and yours.
