Basic distributed library setup and borrowing

I’m extremely happy to announce that Neighborgoods 0.1 has been released!

Neighborgoods is a platform which allows people and organizations to setup a #library of many different kinds, and federate them together to provide a large resource for borrowing, sharing, and giving.

This is our first release, which has basic setup of distributed libraries , which are groups in an area where people share goods.

    On the surface, this sounded like a nice project to connect people in a real world network and exchange tools or services. Pity that the entire readme is a wall of generated word salad, apparently aimed at other bots rather than flesh and blood developers.

    I’d be interested in a network like the one outlined here, developed and maintained by actual people, just not whatever this is…

      Sorry, which part is unclear? I’m the main developer on the project, and there’s also a few others that are adding in. The tone problems are probably mine.

      There’s also a more concise website - currently moving it to the .org, but you can see it now at https://neighborsgoods.com/

      The project has to balance between the very theoretical parts of library socialism as a whole, the ideas of the platform as a whole, and needs of a small library now, so it’s obviously not going to hit any part 100%. But I’m happy to clarify anything - and make sure the text gets updated to be clearer!
