I think there’s also the layer that white wines that are good tend to be expressionate with unique expressive flavours. Red wines are generally more reserved and more settled and subtle. Their flavour does not show immidiatly but rather as you let it breath

I only drink red and, yeah, I don’t think there’s the palette swings with it that some people rave about.
