I’m on firmware 13.6 but almost updated a week ago.
Now I just have to prevent my 9 year old son from updating it when playing Roblox and it might one day become my Linux gaming PC instead of buying a pre-built when prices go down.
Let’s hope the new exploit helps the PS5 Linux scene.

The modded warfare YouTube channel has a tutorial on how to block updates on any firmware.
You’ll probably want to bookmark his channel if you’re planning on hacking your PS5.
I’ll look into it, thanks!
You can probably block the PS5 from reaching the update servers to be safe
But wouldn’t I block any online game or feature by doing this?
Assuming the update URL runs under a different domain and IP: It shouldnt.
Probably should stop his son from playing roblox
I’m not rooting for Roblox but hés playing some interesting games on it and it now lead him to try some management games on Steam now.
I have a way better feeling about Roblox than about Fortnite where he used his allowance to get skins and other stuff.
I’m not saying you don’t have predators and stupid games on Roblox, but it’s not just this.
Just watch out for groomers and Terrorgram recruiting.
Probably still easier to just adjust the DNS settings to block Sony servers. Do this under your network DNS setting on your ps5.
