“Hot” take: older people using new slang is good. Great, even. Miles better than them shitting on it for no reason other than thinking young people are stupid.

I’m surprised it’s a hot take. I prefer my grandma saying rizz and being hip over boomer humor and being a fossil

Yup, exactly my thoughts too. Some new words and fun, like “yeeting something”. I always find people who want language to stagnate kind of strange, do they realise we don’t speak ye olde English or ancient Sumerian? Language is ever evolving.

Meh, I’m not a fan of pointless slang, even if it’s naturally occurring like most slang is. “Neckbeard” for example is mostly cool & funny to me because it actually describes something that wasn’t quite named before. Of course the body-shaming aspect isn’t great, but…

“Rizz” is actually kinda useful to me because it means I don’t have to pay much attention to the person using it. They’re just trying to be hip most likely, and I can move on.

Similar thing with “shitting on” which is pretty disgusting in itself. I mean, who the fuck came up with that nastiness? “Harshing on” or “slamming” wasn’t good enough for you…?
