Chick-fil-A is turning down artificial intelligence in its drive-thru lanes, choosing human employee interaction over automated order takers as competitors embrace voice technology.
I think it depends what you’re cooking. Of course it’s not cheaper to eat at home on the days that I’m busting out dry aged prime ribeye. But the days that I’m doing teriyaki chicken bowls on the grill over rice, that’s obscenely cheaper than like $15 per person fast food meals.
You’ll feel better and it’s likely to take you less time than ordering and waiting for something to show up. If you’re just doing pick up, it will save you 2/3 of the money you’re working doubles to make and then lighting on fire to eat fast “food”.
If you’ve got a rice cooker and a toaster oven I’ve got a couple of recipes less than 10 mins of actual work. I understand not wanting to work too hard at it too though.
Very true. It’s tough to find really bad pizza. Little Caesar’s tries their best to make awful pizza but somehow manages to make minimally acceptable pizza.
Christofascist chicken or AI fueled burgers…hmm, maybe I’ll just get some tacos.
Cheaper to eat at home.
I mostly cook at home and only occasionally eat fast food, but as a cooking enthusiast it’s rarely cheaper…

Ah yes, let me come home in between two doubles and spend time prepping, cooking, and cleaning instead of getting that precious extra hour of rest.

The taco guy on the corner and the halal truck down the street. I trust them with my life.
Make sure there’s no lettuce on them.
How about pizza? Can’t go wrong with pizza

The Little Caesar’s near my house has not managed to cross that low bar yet.
