Probably 1/2 of the users on this platform are here as a protest against Reddit. Either the API stuff, or the admins nuking your account, or the mods being… goofy. Or the users, or who knows what.
What’s your story?

Posting links was fucking impossible.
Post some link, and it gets shadow-eaten by the spam filter.
OK, sometimes it gets auto-snatched by some posting rule, like a karma threshold or whatever, which you will not be notified of if you use old reddit.
Or it might be eaten by automoderator for reasons that are complicated to explain.
You might get the post through if you message the moderators. 1 time out of 100, they approve it. 19 times out of 100, they go “this post doesn’t seem to be cultured enough to fall under my narrow definition of what’s fitting, sorry.” the rest of the time, nothing. (At least I didn’t get turbo banned. I hear that’s what has happened to some people who messaged moderators for innocuous things.)
Meanwhile, shit from corporate shill accounts just flies through because they spend their time (and money) avoiding the landmines.
They say they want community members, not corp sock puppets. Yet, 10+ year old accounts are still considered just as suspicious as fresh users what comes to “link spam”.
