    Normal adult (not Death): “Yo kid. Better tie your shoelaces” - Kid: “Do I have to?” - Adult: “Well no, but…” - Kid: (already gone)

      What adult is going to respond that way to a kid? If the kid asks “do I have to” I’m saying “yeah or you’re going to fall on your face and have a bad time.”

        Not me, but I’m seeing it almost daily. Anything they think even has a whiff of imposing their will on their child they skirt.
