Your fellow ‘leftists’ are lying to you when they say, “He can’t control NYPD.”
I critically support Mamdani in his effort to comprehensively demonstrate why electoralism is a dead end. I wish it weren’t so but it very clearly is.
One a side note do you know of any list that demonstrates all the ways in which he had to bow to fascism despite his best intentions. I’m assuming still that he has good intentions but keeps having to compromise (or feels like he has to compromise) with fascists. Or any good write-up of how exactly Mamdani’s failures are forced upon him systemically. An examination of how the base is shaping the superstructure and how you can’t just will the superstructure into something more benevolent to shape the base with a real-life example would be quite illuminating I think.
NYPD literally kidnapped one of the last decent mayor’s daughter to threaten him during blm protests iirc.
Not to absolve Mamdani but cops are literally mafias in the US.
redacted talk about change and working within the system to achieve that The problem with always being a conformist is that when you try To change the system from within, it’s not you who changes the system It’s the system that will eventually change you There is usually nothing wrong with compromise in a situation But compromising yourself in a situation is another story completely And I have seen this happen long enough in the few years that I’ve been alive to know that it’s a serious problem
