But what case is this in reference to? I could make a random comic about some tragic event and get people riled up. What’s the point?
The point is it makes you uncomfortable. It forces us to reconcile with reality. This shit happens. Real people are harmed. While this is in relation to a specific case which many have already mentioned in the comments, the point is that this is normal. It’s not one individual woman who has experienced this. Thousands go through this all the time and we normalize looking away or vicitim blaming. That’s the point.
It’s not made up. It’s not random. It’s real fucking people asswipe. It’s lives ruined and perpetrators escaping accountability. Especially if they have wealthy or connected parents. Lazy or “inconvenienced” police and district attorneys. Real people, real crimes and you’re still actively downplaying it saying it’s random, it doesn’t matter, isn’t it too dramatic? Does it make you uncomfortable?
That’s the fucking point.
