Of course you should. This allows you to say in a text or on the phone that you’re not doing it, instead of to that person’s face.
Yeah but also why do something now if it can wait until next week.

Want to go to suchband such party next week?
I feel if I’m not excited or interested now i certainly won’t be then.
All I end up with is a whole week of dread etc waiting for it
And why not delay indefinitely that which can be put off until next week?
