No, because it will drag the rest of the world down with it. There are better ways to make its government at least less evil to start. Or, barring that, the rest of the world needs to further unhook its reliance on it so a collapse would have minimal impact on everyone else.
While a redemption would be best, turning it into a pariah is second best if it can’t ever get its shit together. No matter what, though, its old role as the “world’s policeman” is over.
