I’m not a avid reader, but I’ve read quite a few books. Classics such as 1984, Fahrenheit 451 and The Book Thief.

A lot of people on the internet recommend reading Monte Cristo and so I wanted to read it but the is huge, like 1100 pages? That kind of scares me away, if that makes sense.

I usually read smaller books, like 200-250 pages. So I was wondering how do you read a book that has that many pages? I know the question doesn’t really make sense.

If you are wondering what kind of books I read, here’s my humble list. Warning though, there are some ero books in there: My book list

Honestly, skip Monte Cristo for now. If you want to read a big book, read something more unique. Try Dostoyevsky for metaphysical musings, House of Leaves for an SCP-like mindfuck, or Moby Dick for some of the most beautiful writing mankind has ever produced and a truly autistic enthusiasm for the sea.

I might be in the minority on this opinion, but I find it valid: Monte Cristo shows its age in an unappetizing way and it’s clear the work was serialized. It lacks potency or substance when compared to the other works I mentioned, and it seems like you’ve got a thing for books that say something.
