Cold and flu season is upon us!

This guy, Grant Harting is a licensed pharmacist in four of the United States and does a lot of videos testing various OTC meds and supplements. He says supplements are a hobby, but solidly recommends some, like zinc picolinate or zinc gluconate and D3 for immune support and for shortening the length of time and severity of cold and flu symptoms.

All zinc is not readily bioavailable, zinc oxide supplements are basically junk. Also zinc is best absorbed on an empty stomach, while D3 is fat soluble and should be taken with a meal containing fat, so while I’m pretty sure the zinc + D3 supplements I purchased are “ok,” I will be more aware when I repurchase. Also check ingredients for junk fillers, like silicon. If I want that, I’ll eat sand. Finally, zinc can mess with copper absorption, so you may want to add more copper to your diet, but I haven’t yet researched all that far yet, to know the best way of getting it.

As always, nutrition via diet is gat superior to supplements, but due to soil depletion, foods today are about 40% as nutritious as when they were originally tested and labeled NY the US government, s second best is good enough, maybe better.

Yeah, but tbh, they’re getting lax, too. So due diligence, even with Costco. I’ve been disappointed more with them since the current CEO took the position, and I’m not saying it’s his fault, just that I’ve been more disappointed each year since then.

And dosage matters, so if you have the time, watch the video as a favor to yourself.
