We are having some fizzles, and while some people keep dismissing each one as isolated, it is hard to keep that narrative credible. Most of the relevant stocks are down 20-50% over the last month or two. A key indexing China popped to the tune of 40%
Most recently the biggest one was Google admiting AI search is bad business for them, with way more expensive queries but with way less revenue.
Another report basically said that over half of the hoarded crap the datacenter companies bought up after sitting either completely unpowered or idle even after “delivery”.
Even as he was trying to spin it all as good news, Musk basically said hundreds of these datacenter companies are going to fold up (basically accepting the shit storm, but saying it just applies to others, not his interests).
I’ve no idea the backstory to be clear, but was in a conversation where a vendor said they had huge cancellations and wanted to find customers to take the sort of stuff inmediately they had just last month said they had a six month wait list for. I don’t know for sure it was AI datacenter bs, or how isolated it was, but it seems possible that we may be starting the shit storm of datacenter cancellations.
