This presentation is like the most mean spirited parody of how reactionaries view Occupy Wall Street.
My AI dyslexia kicked in about half a scroll down their page, I can’t read the source further.
US industry has already mastered using and abusing open-source software, so they can absolutely fuck this project up. We wouldn’t be in the predicaments we are today without that abuse, going back to Linux servers and the build-out of cloud SaaS. The main selling point of a SaaS is the support, followed by the hosting. There are plenty of other relative-to-this-apolitical self-host alternatives without any of this stink. Does anyone not on a stock market even use Salesforce?
I’m at a fucking loss for who actually benefits here. Lockheed and McDonalds are gonna save some money using the Salesforce clone from a point in time with no new feature delivery? At best it’s like some kind of corpo-focused adventurism to free IP that only corpos and startup wannabes actually care about. If you’re thinking about contributing to this, I’d urge you to donate to a real organization that’s standing in solidarity with workers, instead of just spiting former employers or whatever this is.
It does make me think again about the value of tech coops. There have to be some common services like identity, file management, etc that are a good fit for a local tech coop. Have you seen anything like that?
Smells funny.

Nope but if I do I will do everything in my power to get in on it!
It should be quite obvious why making alternatives to these proprietary platforms is objectively a good thing, yet here we are.
