I usually buy a refurbished Pixel a generation or so behind the current. At least it doesn’t directly support Google. Not perfect, but it’s what I can afford.
I understand that logic. But it’s the very fact of even owning something that they produced is enough for me to reject it. if for nothing more than I don’t want people seeing that i use a pixel phone because then, I benefit Google by acting as free advertising for their devices. Is my view extreme? Maybe, but i really hate the tech oligarchs. They have ruined so much in this world.
How would anyone know? They don’t have broadcasts that say “This is a Pixel”. No racist, but all phones look alike to me. I can’t tell one from another, especially in a case.
