TBF voting for the GOP is also bad for GOP voters, so logically yes. Now that MAGA is waning we’ll likely see a comeback of other types of conservative like Libertarian. Hopefully one of these elections won’t be the most important election of our lives like the previous 20 were, which is to say hopefully some moderate conservatives take their party’s wheel.
It would be lovely if the race became right-libertarianism vs democratic socialism – if only because there would kind of be a common basis for the conversation, i.e. that politics is about economics, and that it should have some basis in reality.
I don’t see it happening, though. Right-libertarianism is just too honest and clearly bad for most people. I think we’ll see a new flavor of right-wing populism in stead.
