Any Idea what type of charging port this is, I thought it was ye old Mini B, but its too thick. We’re having a clearout and found our old Camcorder, the model is a Luminox LXDV750 12.0 MEGA MAX, can anyone help me find this port?

I remember it well. Worked in a lab setting doing computer work. The microscopes they used at the time were all firewire connections for the cameras to comminicate. It became semi annoying because it was always the 1 part not used anywhere else so they always needed to be purchased specifically for this dept at the time. It was also on tests back then for being certified since they wanted you to point out the differences and was normally thrown in as a wildcard answer.
FireWire/Thunderbolt is the best interconnect protocol. Unlike usb, it is constant bitrate. USB is variable bitrate, so its throughput speed is not guaranteed. but with FireWire/Thunderbolt, you always knew how fast it was going. That’s why it was always extremely good for, in your case, scientific equipment, cameras, video editing, large, external data storage devices, etc… and the data transfer is symmetrical rather than unidirectional like USB.
Thunderbolt is fucking awesome. My buddy just built out a new Plex server, and his 50 TB external storage box is running at thunderbolt 4. He can stream out multiple remote 4K streams, and his gigabit Internet connection AND his local network will both be bottlenecks far before his storage device throughput will be.
Edit: my buddies box could host 6 remote 4K streams, 12 local 4K streams, and he could edit 4 remote (local 10Gb/80Gb cached network) 8K edits in Adobe Premiere before he’d hit a single frame jitter.
system76 makes some nice boxes.
