Mastercard’s ties to the esports world have led to more evidence of censorship. A source leaked messages from the Riot Games sponsor to livestream channels during the Valorant Champions Tour. The payment processor asked moderators to delete messages accusing it of forcing the ban of Steam games.
I’ve never seen a place that charges you a fee only if you pay with a credit card. The credit card company rules say you can’t do that and they’ll threaten you vendor status the same way they threatened Valve and Itch.io.
I’d love to see it happen, because I have many utilities that openly state there’s a service fee for card payments.
