    No, they should pay him some months in advance so he has time to look for a new job.

    Or at least give him some days off each week while still employing him.

      You have no idea whether they got severance or not. Most tech companies do give it out for layoffs.

      Also the WARN act already mandates that companies with 100+ people have to give 60 days notice for layoffs.
