Well, is it mainly about the US Democrats and Trump’s reaction to something and their ideas? Then it’s US politics… Is it about details of the war in the middle east, containing a side note that the US government reacted, then it’s not US news. Or decisions made in the US but with a substantial (somewhat direct) effect on other parts of the world. That’s also not just US news. (Or you’d make a different argument about where the news agency is located. But I doubt that’s the case here.)

How to explain an article about trump designing antifa as an us terrorist group not being removed. Sorry but the decision sound really selective and it’s not the first time that us related news are not removed

That’s why I’ve long unsubscribed from all the news and politics communities. They’re all not very healthy and pretty random in both what gets posted, what’s the outrage of the day, and subsequently also all other things that come with these kinds of discussions. Moderation style, and nature of the comments… I’d say read some decent newspaper and skip social media news.

Mods aren’t perfect automatons, and I’ve seen many mods on lemmy let things unfitting for their sub stay up if they find it after it has generated a lot of discussion, in the interest of not killing discussion.

What Dems think about Palestine is Us domestic politics with no consequence to outside world.

Trump acts on behalf of US and US terrorist organisation designation has international consequences.

For one, according to US law you can only designate a foreign organisation as a terrorist one. Secondly, it usually means US will start extraterritorial and extrajudicial killing of foreign nationals.

We know trump is not respecting laws

Secondly, it usually means US will start extraterritorial and extrajudicial killing of foreign nationals.

          This is just your interpretation

Even more reason to worry but has no bearing on international newsworthiness.

In general I think speech is rarely newsworthy because it’s the actions that matter. Speech of someone in power can be newsworthy but speech of a politician that has no means of changing things is just domestic politics that should be contained to dedicated spaces, otherwise we drown in irrelevant noise.

People who actually give a crap about the genocide know that the dems are fully in support of it.

We don’t want to hear this pointless theatrical bullshit about worthless dems “confronting” their fash boss about the worthless PA.
