The video was removed but I saw it before he took it down. In the video he turned to the dog and said “I’m pregnant.” And the dog looked pretty shocked by that.

from my understanding, shock collars aren’t meant to hurt, just be a little discomforting. like licking a 9-volt battery i’ve heard. that said i don’t really understand how hasan piker is “any port in a storm” tbh. he’s funny if you’re not sober but his politics are dogshit by left-wing standards. which sucks for a political streamer. sorry for the rant but i guess i just don’t get why he’s so popular on hexbear dot net

I’ve listened to a fair portion of his yapping, and there’s very little he’s said that wouldn’t fit in on Hexbear imo. He would be closer to the less vocal DemSoc/electoral wing of the site, but to me it’s quite obvious he’s drawing off the same material as everyone else here, and he talks about mainstream American electoralism because that’s what draws an audience. He’s constantly talking up China and the PSL, it comes up like every day, not to mention he is strictly anti-zionist even when holding those principles have harmed him and people around him.

“Dogshit” is quite an overstatement, tbh.

This is not to say that his views are a carbon copy of mine, or anyone else’s.

idk i tend to judge leftists’ politics on whether they exclusively adopt policy that would help them, logical contradictions be damned. in hasan’s case as an american man that would be “equally distribute the spoils of imperialism” and “make brothels great again”. the same is true for a large portion of his core audience, if i’m not mistaken. maybe dogshit is an overstatement but idk. i watch clips sometimes and i just don’t see the appeal. he’s funny but not as funny as cumtown or whatever, and i don’t think i can learn anything from him. maybe i need to watch again just to see what’s up

It would be ridiculous to suggest that you or anyone get would gain anything from Hasan, morning won’t with “not seeing it” for yourself.

The benefit is that because he tails this site (which is our is adjacent to your core community), he is useful for pipelining certain people (pro-palestine liberals) toward democratic socialism. Once they think of themselves as socialists, you can call them shitty socialists who need to do more to develop a decolonial mindset. I suggest watching his content with this in mind, so you can tell someone “yeah I don’t agree with everything Hasan says (from the left ofc, but they don’t need to know that), but he’s in the right direction most of the time” and if they bother to tune in, he’s doing a bunch of the work for you.
