That truly depends on what you mean by “comfortably”. You can very easily survive the rest of your life “comfortably” on $1 million. If you want to own a house and a car in a developed country, with property taxes, insurance, house repairs, car repairs etc etc etc, $1M won’t cut it. If it was, I would have retired years ago.
