3 weeks later I’m logging in to collect my daily bonuses. “Hope I get a good pull out of today’s free summon” I tell myself while hoping for the best. The novelty of playing such a thing long since fading from memory as I settle into the fact that I’m playing this unironically now
this isn’t a badpost. this is a confession of sin and a cry for help

Yeah that’s the thing I’m saying. If you set aside the ones that fail, all the successful ones are genuinely good games within their genre. Maybe not for everyone because not everyone likes every genre, but “breath of the world style fantasy rpg” is very well catered to by Genshin, and “Action combat team-combo game” is very well catered to by ZZZ, etc etc. Each one is filling a different niche and usually filling it very well.
Eventually one of these companies is going to go after Fifa, a football team gacha game full of anime characters will be quite successful if they nail gameplay.
Just fyi, it starts small intentionally. If you feel yourself thinking, “just a few bucks couldn’t hurt” gtfo
I’ve spent like $10-15 on another gacha game a while back and did not spend any more. I think I’m fine here
