    I mean, I guess it matters to the person the land belongs to. they said in the article that they left tire marks and the exhaust also damaged the site. so there’s the environmental concern.

    but more importantly, just because there are more important things to worry about, doesn’t mean you can’t also worry about this. it’s not a mutually exclusive sort of thing, you can care about more than one problem at a time if you want to.

      Ok, I did say “why does this matter to anyone?”, and you’re right about the land owner, clearly it matters to them. Fair enough.

      But you also said that we can care about more than one thing at a time. And while I agree with that up to a point, I think you can’t use that mindset all the time.

        You say that, but I am learning first hand that I have a finite capacity for injustice and misery.

        that’s why I said “if you want to”. if your bucket is full, then care about what you can. if you have more room in your bucket, then why not use that room for something else?
