Independence from USA on IT has been sorely needed since the 80’s.
For some reason nobody has been able to make it work, not even Russia or China who both have been very motivated for it for decades.
I hope we will finally succeed now that the interest is more global.
How has china not been able to make it work? Or do you mean hardware specifically? Because with Google and Meta stuff banned, among others, I’d say they’ve gotten pretty far

It’s surprising they’ve never moved to Linux, considering the urgency and the power of the chinese state to steer society.
