Irish and EU regulators aggressively “censored” social media coverage of Ireland’s 2024 general election and the recent presidential election, a panel of US politicians has claimed in a report.

The report by the staff on the judiciary committee of the Republican-controlled US Congress alleges “harassment” against tech groups to undermine conservative and populist parties.

Overall because while opening a new account on a non-US Tech giant is that simple they have fewer people so you risk losing content you may enjoy.

I can speak from experience in the reason I am still on YouTube & Twitch instead of full transition to is simply because content creators I enjoy are only on those respective platforms.

You don’t have to be on a single site. Keep using old, but copy post and interact with others too. This allows new sites to grow, while not losing benefits. It’s not a marriage.

But at the same time makes one go “why am I even here.”

We can offer tips all we want but at the end of the day it’s the Silicon sites already with the communities already built, moving off them on your own would require building new communities and not everyone is interested in that

Literally just copy paste mechanically to the new site(s). When consuming, read and interact with the little content there is and once done go to big site. It’s just a few more taps/clicks.
