How would the US approach them and what legal avenues for resistance exist? They’re not a fascist government but they also don’t seem to have the same free speech protections the US does. Probably everyone is vulnerable to secret surveillance, I’m not sure how to mitigate against that. But the information from such efforts will be more limited.
