On reddit people are discussing the very quick cementing of this new truth, where everything can retroactively be waved off as having been AI.

People talk about the loss of certainty on everything ever since AI became a significant factor.

I disagree, it would be pandemonium if everything needs double checking and nothing is real. I think there is an obvious solution:

Make it into law that any official statement is assumed true unless it’s redacted by the subject within a set amount of time.

Make it so people have an appeal window to any news outlet, with heavy consequences for platforms that do not redact.

We cannot be living in psychosis bizzarroland, and if Bibi says he’s alive then take the countries word for it.

Let’s say someone claims with a video that Trump is dead and replaced by a clone. Why would we allow for people to believe in that kind of nonsense which is obviously meant to divide people and turn a lot of them into crazies. If the administration would claim it’s untrue, then that should be published as truth using no uncertain terms: article x was deepfakes

Anyone who claims differently afterwards is perpetuating lies and should be held accountable

This world has reached quite a level of absurdity. Me are no longer in the information age and have entered the age of disinformation.

If there are norms saying content is true until proven otherwise as you say… Welll… That can also be exploited the other way around. I swear it’s not me abusing those minors. It was AI. I swear no it’s not me cheating my partner, it’s AI. It’s not me caught saying something compromising over what I thought was a closed microphone, it was AI.

I see what you are trying to do but this is a damned if you do, damned if you don’t kind of situation.

Wild open access to vast reliable information has to be a social anomaly. I think the US will basically rewrite the Internet to promote national interest. It’s worked well for China. I think they can basically control the population with an app.

Basically Internet becomes TV. It’s entertaining and could be educational, but it is mostly useful to help people find sales and remember to work hard and respect their financial betters.

The Internet had scads of potential, still does, but imagine how radio enthusiasm changed from two way to broadcast communication.

So, it’ll just be like the early ninties again? People had similar feelings about digital technology being easy to manipulate.

I’m going to bet that he’s hiding somewhere, because he doesn’t want to end like the Khomeini or on trial. So his propaganda team put out rumors that he’s dead and then they released obviously fake videos to cause distractions and confusions, and then later they’re going to say no actually he’s dead with his family so the world forgets about them and they’re out free in their safe haven.

In the end a specimen like him does not end zionism or it’s atrocities, there’s plenty others like him.

Would be pretty great honestly. It gives autocratic rulers a way out without worrying to be hunted by some past enemies - given they aren’t narcissists that simply want to rule till the bitter end.

Take the country’s word for it? Some of those politicians are the biggest liars of all! Trump, Putin, Netanyahu etc couldn’t lie straight in bed!

That’s a terrible idea. Administrations would have to issue statements 24/7.

You’re not wrong, but, eh. I wanna see the obviously-fake-statements by obviously-not-trump. This might get interesting.

“That’s a bad idea because I think it would be hard” You’re presuming that they wouldn’t have to avoid lying as much.

OK, let me put it this way: I set up 50 shell newspapers that push 100 articles per day along the line of “Politician A is a reptilian”, “Government Y is hiding aliens”, etc. Do you really think it is productive work for an administration to a) find these statements, b) research the validity (after all an otherwise unknown agency could really be hiding aliens), c) rebute or confirm the statement and d) enforce the rebuttal?

An AI chatbot? A technology that’s notorious for making shit up is supposed to analyze the truth behind a random statement?

Okay, now, do any of you think it truly matters? The geopolitical objectives of the settler state of Israel, just like the settler collection of states called the USA, have always been known and strictly adhered to regardless of who’s the acting head scapegoat, right? Dead or not, Israelis, just like many Americans, are a bloodthirsty, amoral, sociopathic group of people. They could’ve been just regular white folks had they been raised in a different environment, maybe, but they weren’t and that’s the reality of things. Call me pessimistic if you want but I don’t think things will change with Satanyahu dead, just like things haven’t changed in the direction of American geopolitics (they’re just more restrained now [and at times more violent since the walls are closing in] because of the rising multipolar world and the fact that, being amoral and selfish beings, corruption [read: inefficiency] is on every level of government).
