A new Steam client has been released and will be automatically downloaded. General Added a low battery level toast for wireless gamepads. Battery notifications for Xbox controllers on Windows are temporarily disabled. Added System Report button to the Help section on Windows. Improved client performance when there are many unread account notifications pending. Fixed spell check not working in certain browser views.
I hope they add quick chat to Steam Input so that we can use it with in-game chats as well. Even just having one that types out “sorry, I can’t chat, I’m on a Steam Deck” would be great.
Technically it’s possible to do that already, I’ve seen Lethal Company configs where you a touchpad menu to enter all the computer commands for navigation/shop/etc. It’s definitely a pain to setup though, and I’d be really nice to have an easier way to set it up.
I wish there was a way to “update” your current config from a downloaded one, by “merging” rather than “replacing”. In example what I think of is, download a single menu configuration, then use “update” to add it to the touch pad in example. The rest of your config would stay intact. Sure if you are not careful, this could mess up things. But having this option is better than not having it. We could have modular configs.
