I have Facebook because it’s the only way to reach some family, but I rarely visit. Thanks for reminding me to uninstall the app.
Tell everyone you are done with facebook and let grandma know where she has to go to see grandkid pics. She’ll figure it out, she wants those pics.
This is how we break our families of facebook.
Delete the account. If they reach out another way, they matter. If not, you won’t miss them. That’s how I saw it, at least.

definitely get rid of the app! The account is one thing if you log in from a desktop terminal, but the app is where the real money comes for them IIRC.
This, and in the web browser (I hope you use Firefox :) ) use Facebook Container , so that Facebook can access only its sandbox.
