Of these states, six have Democratic trifectas, 23 have Republican trifectas, and seven have divided governments. There are currently 14 states that do not require identification at the polls outside of what is required by federal law. Of these 14 states, 10 have Democratic trifectas, and four have a divided government.


And all states in Germany and provinces in the Netherlands require voter ID.
And in Sweden. I don’t think any country in Europe allows voting without photo ID. Could be wrong though.
At least for Germany that is not true most of the time. If you vote in your home constituency it is normally enough to show your Wahlschein (letter that show that you allowed to vote and where).
