People in Costa Rica and other Latin American, Asian and African countries are increasingly buying electric vehicles to avoid spiking fuel prices.
That rate of growth is astonishing. Many of these countries are now adopting electric driving much faster than “the west”.
“The West” is a pretty bad category in this case. Germany had 66%, France 69% and Italy 72% growth in EV sales in the same period. The US saw a decline in sales though and from what was already a lower base.
Let us hope we don’t end up with a Reform govt. in the UK. That would be disasterous for EV adoption in the UK
Being convinced to prefer a worse option to save egos and tribalism seems to me like something only the privileged can afford.
