If I was the pope, I would only call the banks an affront to Christendom
The Church should hold it’s own money, there is no reason to use a bank, they’ve the ability to hold their wealth and not let the parasitical money lenders use it to defy the vision of Jesus Christ. Or at least use credit unions.

Many agnostic or atheists could. I don’t say that to be heretical, it’s just shocking how anti-Chistian/Catholic some actions of recent popes have been.
Certainly helps me better understand how the church got kicked out of England (though that was about control and a conflict with France).
