if I am not mistaken, neither does RCS.

RCS: Uses data or Wi-Fi to send messages – similar to internet-based messaging apps, resulting in faster and more reliable message delivery.

  True, it’s IP-based, but RCS can fall back to SMS which is handy sometimes
