The page is laggy af but that’s probably a github thing lol
Lgtm
an arms race of compute is upon us
Sad day for Zig patriots
Moving from the self hosted compiler with memory safe semantics to LLVM slop with unsafe escape hatches and unidiomatic code that a human never wrote is certainly one of the decisions of all time.
It’s so funny to me that since it’s a straight port it has like 17000 unsafe blocks lmfao
Keep that shit away from my hardware lmao
Why?
More than clean drinking water and lower emissions, the world needs another JavaScript runtime that claims to give capital gains.
But it was working fine before and you have years of developer experience on that codebase! Now everyone needs to learn the new slopbase from scratch and your Zig devs are out in the cold!
This is also new code, so any existing model that was trained on the Zig code is cooked when it starts hallucinating stuff that no longer exists.
the time line is hilarious too the dev who did this was like “its just an experiment guys chill out i just want to see how well it works” and a week later he’s like 👍 ship it
