    -Faster economic development

    -All of our industry

    -Better environmental programs

-Soft power that they haven’t squandered

    We have Apple

    …that’s built in China

    the NBA

    Ok, a $13B entertainment franchise in a $30T US (GDP) economy…

    Sydney Sweeney

Housemaid made $300M, so I’ll guess she generates (for the sake of the argument) $2B of economic activity.

Are these the best examples you come up enough, WSJ?

All 3 of them have supply chains that run through China.

Ah yes, as we all know there are no attractive women in China.

Sure, they have industrial and technological superiority, a plan for the future, a population 4 times the size, and a much stronger international reputation, but we have an actor with big boobies

Oh shit, I remember these types making this same sort of argument 15 years ago, just with Miley Cyrus instead of Sydney Sweeney. They really don’t change at all.

the future is already chinese, but that doesn’t mean other countries can have cute little things that make them feel special. australia has butter (abolish dairy tho) and they also have the working holiday program, europe has a lot of nice vacation spots and nice walkable city centers and they also have good olive oil.

all chinese 15-year-olds (at least the boys) love NBA, so the US can keep it, it’s a nice brand. same with apple, huawei can make better phones but some people like slightly different phones from a company headquartered in the US (but still made in shenzhen). who is sydney sweeney? no one really knows, and that’s fine.

the WSJ declaring ownership of a human being as proof of national superiority is more telling than they realise

They have actual homes, presumably have attractive actresses that can actually act in China and Xiaomi and Huawei. shrug-outta-hecks
