The timing of the boat’s arrival in Seattle and the job cuts was coincidental, but the irony was not lost among the people who hustled down to the locks to see the giant yacht after word spread through the neighborhood and online. Some booed from the shore and heckled the crew.
Bumpers on the side of the boat were about the size of small SUVs, while the back deck had a covered pool and hot tub. More than a dozen crew members were visible, many enjoying the trip through the channel on a partly sunny evening.

Sorry but why are these things even called yachts still? Mega yacht, super yacht, whatever you call it they are basically billionaire holiday ships.
They are basically the billionaires version of an emotional support vehicle (aka. american sized pickup trucks), and should have a name that reflects that, not take the name of a small self skippered boat thats used for adventure and exploration under the skippers own sweat and skill rigging the sails, steering, etc.
Cope boat
Yeah. It’s a motorboat. My great uncle was rich and had a ridiculously big motorboat, but he never called it a yacht. He loved sailing. He had two actual yachts for that.
motorboat is not the term you guys are looking for. a motorboat is a step above a dinghy
It’s a boat. With a motor.
Although we do mockingly refer to ugly boats like that as clothes irons.
Motorboating usually happens to tig ol bitties.
Yeah, my first thought was “that’s no yacht. It’s a ship.”
