    Stop dreaming, kids. There will never be a time humans dont also need to know this shit. Even in your mystical botland humans will still have to verify output and that means they need to know what they are doing. There is no reality where society is not human driven. You cannot live as a billionaire hermit tended to only by bots. Let’s get over with the division, and begin the unity. I am tired of chasing the dragon boss.

    Itt: my math teacher complaining about calculators.

    I don’t like where the world is headed either. But it’s going to go there regardless of us.

      Calculators’ whole deal is that they give consistent, predictable results and can be relied on. And there was never a calculator bubble resting on the premise that they’d make engineers obsolete.

      The professional programmers I know all agree that correcting all the accumulated slop code will, in its own right, create demand for human engineers for a long time to come. But firms are going to have to scrounge for the capital to rehire the laid-off engineers, because they aren’t getting back the capital they sunk into corporate LLM subscriptions.
