they either lose thier farms to jd vances app, or to the meg-corp farms. and some of them have alledgely taken thier own lives over losing the farms. But these gop farmers are likely owners, and not actual farmers themselves. they contracT it to the IMMIGRANTS/migrant THEY been railing about/. some are lucky to stay enough alive to get a FARM bailtout at some point.

Some people have built their entire identity around one thing. Their father was that thing, so was their mother, their grandparents, back as far as they can trace. That legacy and heritage can be a source of enormous pride for some people. Losing it is absolutely world-shattering in a way that very few people understand.

When that loss happens due to things that aren’t your fault, it’s one thing. But when it’s due to something that is your fault, that guilt is so utterly crushing that the shame drives people to unimaginable depths of living hell.

Some people have relatives buried on their farmland. Some people have had babies born in the farmhouse. Most have their family weddings on the farm. Grandkids grow up living and working on their grandparents land. The ones that kill themselves over losing the family farm due to Trump’s policies did it because they realize they got suckered by a con man into believing a line, and it cost them their family’s entire foundation and past.

Point given to those who point out that colonization stripped the same thing from its rightful original owners. You’re absolutely right. It’s still the loss of a generational home. That pain is very real.
